I am sure lucky charms can be shown to be scientifically healthier than steak and potatoes because of the added vitamins. Sometimes its not about the science. Its not wanting to feed your pup some ugly ass dry dog food.

I see where he’s coming from… the main brands that are sold as premium actually have very average ingredients. BUT you can find smaller more local companies which sell premium food but with premium ingredients. Learn about what good ingredients are in dog food so you can understand what I mean.

  11. @erickanew on October 30, 2024 at 3:16 pm

So true my daughter a millennium spends more on the dog than herself. Different shampoos, toys, clothes, treats, etc.

  12. @SevenDeMagnus on October 30, 2024 at 3:16 pm

So sad. Just feed pets with leftovers with a balanced diet (meet, carb, seafood, vegetables), getting rid of chicken bones, foods with chocolate and MSG.

    God bless, Proverbs 31

Try living off canned food or food from a plastic bag as a human. See how far you get before you develop health issues. Then try to recover while eating the same food……good luck.

  18. @pupu2410 on October 30, 2024 at 3:21 pm

People need to realize that these "Premium" brands want your money just as much as much as other brands do.

  19. @ericc4209 on October 30, 2024 at 3:22 pm

Millennials are at the age where they’re starting to settle down and have a stable income. These people will one day become the old men and women behind the iron curtains and corporations must instill in them now the products and services they’ll continue to use for generations to come.

  20. @marksonsparks698 on October 30, 2024 at 3:23 pm

Yes, one commercial that really PMO is the one which says that it’s premium pet food is not pet food but food food and then continues to make the person still calling it pet food a non-pet owning pariah.

  21. @blackberuang on October 30, 2024 at 3:24 pm

    BUY CAT FOOD INSTEAD

  22. @aurelijagarbanovaite3462 on October 30, 2024 at 3:25 pm

Marketing is absolutely horrible in pet food market, but please don’t blame expensive dog foods when a lot of them are higher quality and use way better ingredients in appropriate measures. I’d rather spend a lot on dog food than vet bills, so I’d call myself an advocate for health, not budget.

  28. @HeyJoeHaze on October 30, 2024 at 3:32 pm

I started feeding my dog Pedigree dry dog food with great results because all the higher end foods made my dog have upset stomach and nasty loose poops.
Pedigree wins hands down for my dog.

  29. @dbrown2430 on October 30, 2024 at 3:33 pm

I worked for a super premium pet food company, trust me its all marketing. A few rules of the pet food industry anything listed after potassium chloride or salt is less than 1% of the food. Meaning if your food says blueberries after it list salt, yeah you may have one blueberry in the bag. Another misleading thing you see, is named protein, chicken may appear first on the ingredient list but thats misleading. That list is dry matter before mixing and cooking, chicken is high in water so once cooked it loses that weight, this is where splitting comes in to make up the protein levels on the label. This is where you will see the bulk of protein coming from plants. Remember meats lose weight after cooking, so they have to add in cheap plant proteins to make up the difference. Anything before salt/sodium/potassium chloride is the bulk of the feed, so if you have brown rice and oats barley any grain or lentil or potato that is the bulk of the food even if a named meat is at the top of the list…remember meat weight is calculated before cooking and mixing. Its a industry dirty secret. Honestly there are few dog foods out there, and many dog feeds.

  30. @sarahstinyzoo8766 on October 30, 2024 at 3:35 pm

Raw is the best dog food out there do your research and consult a canine nutritionist not a vet!

  31. @teaminviminkook2794 on October 30, 2024 at 3:36 pm

Is this bad though? We’re over populated and it’s great to see animals get treated like kings

  32. @Light-Shift on October 30, 2024 at 3:38 pm

Millennials are turning out to be the most entitled, politically morally and culturally destructive generation that ever lived.

  33. @music4gamers947 on October 30, 2024 at 3:38 pm

I cook for my animals cuz i can afford it,but if you cant afford it buy the medium grade kibbles cuz they are super good for example like carnilove,dr clauders and shit πŸ˜€

  34. @autobotrock4789 on October 30, 2024 at 3:40 pm

What they mean to say is some pricey stuff sell the appearance of healthy food and cut corners on ingredients. That being said, it doesn’t mean cheap kibble is healthy. Buy the quality brands.

  35. @kpath74 on October 30, 2024 at 3:42 pm

Unfortunately, Purina 1 lamb and rice is the only 1 that makes my dog have less diarrhea.

  36. @rosiebargoed681 on October 30, 2024 at 3:42 pm

Lets be honest cats and dogs are a less more hassle than a human relationship πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. P.S. my dad used to feed his dogs tripe and my dog loves chicken roll

  37. @dsu08 on October 30, 2024 at 3:42 pm

Did this vet get her degree from Trump University? She literally said that artificial ingredients in good might not be better than natural, quality ingredients.

  38. @SL-gs1rn on October 30, 2024 at 3:44 pm

67% of millennials are likely to what πŸ˜…

  39. @cyrixmh on October 30, 2024 at 3:44 pm

    This is a bad report.

First off, Lets talk about "Prescription" diets, which BTW are extremely over priced for what you are getting. The food is often made up of 75% carbohydrates. Dogs and cats would not be eating carbohydrates (sugar) for energy, they would use animal fat and protein for that. Carbs are why 70% of pets are overweight and have dental issues. Sugars become bacteria and plaque on teeth, which can lead to bacteria from the teeth getting pumped into their hearts causing a variety of heart and other health conditions. Vet foods have nothing super special in them that other brands cannot put in their food. Ask your vet, "What in this urinary/kidney health prescription food helps with their health"? The answer is that they add a ton of salt in order to make your pet extra thirsty so that they drink more water… BTW salt can cause heart issues and raise blood pressure. Oh yes, lets not forget that vet foods have killed many cats and dogs due to their poor quality and recalls. Those deaths are real, not just speculation like foods being possibly linked to heart issues due to unproven reasons. Also, no foods have been recalled by the FDA due to any connections to DCM. Vets hold a lot of power when it comes to what foods their clients choose for their pets. Sadly, not many vets are Nutritionists, and most of their food/nutrition training comes from their sponsors, Hill’s Science diet and Royal Canin, which are owned by Colgate and Mars respectively. Do you honestly think that these 2 giant corporations give a damn about the quality of ingredients going into your pet’s bowl?
Please compare the ingredients in the food you buy with other options. Look at the placement of the ingredients because that will give you an idea of how much of what is in the bag. Look up the recall history of each brand you look at. Look to see who owns that brand, and try to avoid foods that are owned by giant companies like Purina (Nestle), Merrick (Nestle), Nutro (Mars), Blue Buffalo (General Mills), Rachael Ray (Smuckers), Beneful (Nestle), Eukanuba (Mars), Iams (Mars)…. These giants usually do not have your pet’s best interest at heart.

Also, breed specific diets is another myth, with the exception to large breed puppy vs small breed puppy food; the large breed puppy need a more specific amount of calcium and phosphorus for proper bone to muscle growth. Look at all the small breed specific diets in the ingredient panel and you will see that they very by like 1% of something (fat, protein, moisture, etc.) or the ingredients being in a slightly different order (wheat is after brewers rice or vice-versa). That is all the difference. A Yorkie compared to a Dachshund is still the same species, and does not need a specific ingredient in their food compared to any other dog. Of course, every pet has specific dietary needs when it comes to their age, energy level, weight, true allergies, and health condition. A pet that is 10 years old might need less fat or calories in their diet compared to a working dog that is 3 years old. You would then find the correct amount of Protein, Calories, Fat, etc that your pet needs for their specific life style.

    Sorry for the rant.

I’m calling bs. Dog and cats foods that are high dollar are better. 1 star (cheaper) don’t even have protein as the first ingredient. U do get what u pay for at farm and home and pet food companies. People love their pets, they’re not gonna allow some corn based product with questionable ingredients fetch a high price. I’ll feed dog chow in a pinch don’t get me wrong. But ima put some meat with it. But as soon as my finances are right I’m looking for gently cooked all natural dog food. If im struggling financially cheap pet food is okay. If I got any discretionary spending… high dollar pet food is the first place its going.

  41. @METALMAN4Wii on October 30, 2024 at 3:45 pm

Chicken $0.79 a pound, chicken premium dog food $2.50 a pound

  42. @izakiruatfela8539 on October 30, 2024 at 3:49 pm

I know not about the US culture on their pets especially dogs ….but here in my culture we feed them with whatever we eat…which means they eat our breaskfast, lunch and dinner….

  43. @deborahlam9819 on October 30, 2024 at 3:51 pm

The more expensive pet foods usually contain better ingredients in larger quantities (eg, actual meat) from looking at the first few ingredients listed and fewer processed ingredients.. In comparison, cheaper pet foods usually list inferior ingredients in larger quantities, such as fats, meat by-products, grains (or other forms of carbs) etc and more processed ingredients.. This includes famous/popular brands marketed as ‘recommended by veterinarians’, that might not even be that cheap. However, if the pet is suffering from chronic conditions such as diabetes, kidney issues etc should definitely go with the specially formulated pet foods targeting specific conditions.

PET FOOD IS A SCAM BECAUSE MOSY OF UT ACTUALLY GOOD FOR THE ANIMALS. The upcharge is lame

  45. @penelopelandon on October 30, 2024 at 3:52 pm

So vets say go ahead and feed your animals corn filled byproduct meal artificial color mood changing foods, because we want you to come to us to fix all the problems they cause. "There’s no evidence that premium pet food brands are any better," So.. there’s no evidence that real food is better than processed food? Get outta here

  48. @deleqtronica8733 on October 30, 2024 at 3:54 pm

Theres a big difference in quality between the cheapest dog food and the most expensive dog food. That being said theres a point of diminishing return in terms of value. Your best bet is to look for reviews and judge the ingredient list yourself.

  49. @yadayadayada4674 on October 30, 2024 at 3:55 pm

If the first ingredient is corn it’s crap.

  50. @ginofoogle6944 on October 30, 2024 at 3:56 pm

My dog doesn’t eat dog food.. He has a posh lifestyle, he uses utensils to eat his food. You can’t expect him to lower his head like a peasant to eat out of a bowl can you?
