so I built one because of your video (thank you) but I didn’t see cat on the material list. is that required?

  4. @Little_Ironman on October 30, 2024 at 3:01 pm

Try using brick walls instead of cheap dry wall

Replace the walls with metal walls, weld metal shelves like they must withstand a medium sized nuclear strike, problem solved, easy.

Thanks for the Video! I’m in the planning stage of building cat shelves and climbing furniture for upcoming kitten. I was curious if anchors could be used. My apartment’s framing seems unorthodox, to say the least.

  15. @RyanJones0707 on October 30, 2024 at 3:11 pm

I can mail you a stud detector if you don’t have one…….. And if you do you should use it 😅

  16. @Mymimemei on October 30, 2024 at 3:12 pm

    This is great! Thank you!

  17. @TheSlimbee on October 30, 2024 at 3:12 pm

Wood packs inside drill holes are the strongest way to insert screws

  18. @batsofthemans7698 on October 30, 2024 at 3:13 pm

Why no use a stud finder?

  19. @i3looi2 on October 30, 2024 at 3:15 pm

The issue is not with the cat or the screws. You americans build houses out of sticks and stones. Don;’t think there’s any other civilized country that builds houses on wooden-frameworks and drywalls. the f.

  20. @davestelling on October 30, 2024 at 3:17 pm

You’ve got one happy cat there, and isn’t he some handsome!

  21. @MrLTiger on October 30, 2024 at 3:17 pm

just screw everything into the studs. no amount of fancy drywall anchors are going to do the job. drywall is garbage. think of it as paper with clay mixed in it to make it feel "hard"

  22. @Dtchmastrkilla7 on October 30, 2024 at 3:21 pm

i install artwork. for drywall, those metal ones cannot be beat. the plastic ones of the same shape are also okay. the big toggle ones we would only use for really heavy stuff that, realistically, should not really be hung on drywall… for heavy stuff, you can alsp try to drill into studs, those metal supports.

  23. @bohsengchua7122 on October 30, 2024 at 3:23 pm

Incorrect way of fixing wall shelves: The L shaped metal bar must first be fixed onto the plywood … then the plywood together with the L bar be fixed together onto the wall

  24. @lionelhildebrand7305 on October 30, 2024 at 3:25 pm

    Wouldn’t happen in Europe

  25. @allenellisdewitt on October 30, 2024 at 3:30 pm

    Just. Use. The. Studs.

  26. @mikejohnson9115 on October 30, 2024 at 3:30 pm

I have visions of cat hair flying endlessly through the sunlight shining in the window. 😮

  27. @flemmingqvist8326 on October 30, 2024 at 3:33 pm

Improving strength and stability of the platforms. The brackets that you use are TOO small. Always buy the biggest bracket that will fit. The horisontal leg should equal the width of the platform. The vertical leg should be 50 % longer compared to the horisontal leg. This will significantly improve the strength and stability. I have made an external stair for my cat. From ground level to the roof of my garage. My cat like to use it as an easy and safe route. It also gives me peace in mind because 2,5 meter onto a concrete surface could be risky – especially when he is getting older. The steps are also used for a resting platform, in the evening sun, with a great view over our garden.

Dont build your home out of plaster and cardboard

  29. @dyeace on October 30, 2024 at 3:33 pm

Homie really thought drywall anchors would work lmao. This is why education is important. Some people learn from history. Others from experience

  30. @Sophie-dp6rz on October 30, 2024 at 3:33 pm

My cats would love this ❤great video I might give it a go myself 😊thank you

So just for clarification, I need the drywall toggle anchor for my wall type? It’s a mobile home and I dont want to mess up my walls but I want to set something up for my cat I’ve had for about 6 months. She’s a rescue so she has hella energy and zoomes around the house so I need something for her energy.

  33. @feynthefallen on October 30, 2024 at 3:37 pm

You Muricans and your cardboard houses. Where I live, only homeless live in cardboard boxes. There are maybe two or three places in my house where I couldn’t put a wall anchor that would support _my_ weight.

  34. @franklawrence1232 on October 30, 2024 at 3:37 pm

Bro is the one guy who screws in his drywall anchors by hand and not a screw gun💀💀

  35. @Kelly_Australia on October 30, 2024 at 3:38 pm

Great advise. So many don’t take the jumping into consideration, and ones you buy even supply dry wall anchors that are not suitable. I used toggle bolts too. Does your cat also go down the wall carpet, or only up? I want to install this to stop the traffic jam on my cat wall.

  36. @bananicat8842 on October 30, 2024 at 3:38 pm

    0:56 🥺😘

  37. @meowzerzzz on October 30, 2024 at 3:39 pm

Thank you! We had to put a new screw in one of our wall shelves. We will look into the third kind you used

  38. @Kat-kv8mm on October 30, 2024 at 3:41 pm

Every cat we’ve ever had would start rolling around on those shelves and fall off. 😂
These do not meet safety standards. Lol.
I’d definitely have to add ledges / edging to those.

  39. @alfs3 on October 30, 2024 at 3:44 pm

Your kitties need some Kitty Kafé and Katio now 😻

  40. @TheXerosyn on October 30, 2024 at 3:44 pm

Hopefully you are still reacting to comments. I am doing this in my new house my my cats. What are the dimensions on the wood your using for the platforms. Also I guess the L bracket lengths as well.

  41. @TrickShepherd on October 30, 2024 at 3:45 pm

    You need a stud finder.

Your cat has the cutest squeaks. Were she human she would look like a track athlete.

  42. @AjnaBear9 on October 30, 2024 at 3:45 pm

Random youtube recommendation… and i did not expect such an informative video haha thanks!

  43. @jmk1578 on October 30, 2024 at 3:45 pm

Your cat is lucky to have more furniture in the living room than the human’s 😂

Way to become a flooring installer during the process😂🙏

  45. @ChanChan-tv1wp on October 30, 2024 at 3:50 pm

I am too excited to do this for my cat. Thanks for the tips!

Eh sì eh! Una specie di platform-game per mici 😂

  47. @tamasrobby6872 on October 30, 2024 at 3:51 pm

Love your Raja – he chirps so he must have wild genes. My kitties used to bounce up to counter, refrigerator and beam. One still does. But you ideas are ideal. What material do you use for the scratching post; looks like it’s rough like an emery board?

  48. @llsoonerll on October 30, 2024 at 3:51 pm

Mount to 2×4’s, attach to the wall

  49. @thenaughtycuban on October 30, 2024 at 3:52 pm

Just fucking screw the shit into the stud dude you’ve fucked your drywall over an over with new products instead of just drilling into the stud

  50. @thatswhatisaid8908 on October 30, 2024 at 3:54 pm

    His chirps are so cute!
