DIY Rope Perch
Perches are integral to parrot keeping and having a variety of perches is the best rout. They can get expensive but you don’t have to shell out a lot of your hard earned cash on perches if you know how to make them yourself.
Take a look at these:

Mentioning the size and type of wire would help. Even just the one you have.
Yes, very good idea to make one rather than buying from store… thanx
how much time do you waste?????
where did you get the rope? thats the most expensive part in the perch i didnt see anything close to that rope
Awesome
Super cool!! I’d much rather make one and have fun than spend so much money on one from a pet store.. thanks!!! ^^
Looks like a great project to do with kids. They get to participate in fun activities, learn the value of work, being frugal and creativity while making new things for their pets. Most certainly a wonderful way to reconnect and bond with the kiddies.
Thanks for sharing and you did a great job explaining everything.
Very nice il try that!
Thank youuu I made two rope perches for my cockatiel but because the rope was thin I hat to wrap both of the ropes around but itβs fine my cockatiel LOVED it he even sleeps on it.
Thank you for this tutorial you saved me a lot of money π
this helps alot thx, i spent 1.50 a perch! im getting my birds on the 23rd π
Nice video! I’m looking at this because the rope perches I had been buying have more than doubled in price and I refuse to pay it.
Stainless steel wire would be best. (NOT stranded cable. Solid wire!) Galvanized wire is coated with zinc which can flake. You absolutely would not want your bird ingesting flakes of metal as this can be a big problem.
Me and myb4birds love u girl. Thank u so much.ππ«ββ¨π―ππππππππππππ
Can you do this with hemp or jute rope?
Im afraid to use rope , looks like my new budgie likes chewing it.
Wow this was really helpful thank you soo mu

Where do you buy the wire?
Can u link this rope
Is there another way to attach the perch to the cage other then wrapping wire? I know some birds will try to chew the wire if it’s wrapped around the bars. Like you know how branches have the twisty thingy? (lmao) but I need something like that but for this perch. Sorry if this is confusing.
Hi, I would hot glue the pvc caps since my birds aren’t chewers. Great presentation! Ty!
Thank you for making this video, it’s extremely helpful, easy and fun to do. β€
OK so where did you find a dog rope toy that was 3′ long for under $3 I’m only asking because I would like to know so I can buy one, Yes they have them at the dollar store but they’re not that long
Thank You! This is a a super helpful tutorial! I wonder if there is a way to get the end caps with threaded ends that can be placed over or through bars and attached to the cage via screw cap. I’ll have to do some hunting. Meanwhile, I have a bunch of old perches to fix now. My amazon loves to tear apart the strings on these and pull them out of the endcap. ::eyeroll emoji::
Yea this does not help a wink this is the worst toturial Iβm not trying to be mean but you did it show how to make it π
