Its most likely the crap in the air causing environmental inflammatory reactions. Also some areas have a serious mold issue. Look around town and the buildings may have indication of mold. So grateful to have options here from our Doc. I’ve spent over a year going to the vet and trying all the thing$ – still trying to find the right cure for my poor girl. So far the bets that has helped with 2ndary yeast infections is adding ACV to her dinner and also wiping her down with a gauze with a little ACV every few days. The vet couldnt give us any answers except that it is environmental. Our air is dirty and we have mold all over town, so I’m sure it’ll only be a case of helpinv her symptoms caused by whats around us.

Please help. My dog was treated for mange with Bravecto. She is immunosuppressed as well. Sheโ€™s still is scratching. Could she have a post dermatitis? Iโ€™m at my wits end and even running out of tears from crying about this. Vet never called me back. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Hi Dr Jones,my pit bull started itching about 2months ago,@ I’ve not changed anything. I fed Blue Buffalo chicken @ brown rice. He’s a blue nose@ seems to have skin issues at times. It got so bad I asked my vet for a few prednisone to give him some ease @ both of us some rest. It helped major, but, I’ve got him down to 15 mg a day but when I try to go lower he starts digging again, but I really don’t want to keep giving him this stuff. It’s great, but also awful. My vet suggested an injection once a month, a slow release that would help his itching. It’s this ok to do, or are there a bunch of nasty side effects over long term use? He’s 100 lbs. Plz, can you guide me on what would be the best for him?

  15. @EvaeraPereira on October 30, 2024 at 3:09 pm

Can u dr.plz recommend me a powder for skin itching for my furry boy

  16. @ChristisKing117 on October 30, 2024 at 3:10 pm

I have tried quercitin, Zyrtec, raw food diet, olive leaf extract, and my dog is still very itchy. He is still very itchy. I donโ€™t believe allergies are the issue. Leaning more towards leaky gut or yeast issue.

One other thing is healthy animal fats are not inflammatory nor do they create cholesterol problems. Cholesterol builds up in arteries due to inflammation caused by things like carbohydrates and seed oils.

  23. @kathyrebeiro4368 on October 30, 2024 at 3:17 pm

The crap they’re putting in the dog’s food the vaccinations the flea medicine even the heartworm medicine they’re all doomed to make your dog worse the best thing I did was started feeding my dog a diet made of the foods I knew he needed and I get Badlands Ranch dehydrated dog food as a Topper because it has organs it’s got lots of vitamins it’s got really good stuff in it mushrooms it’s expensive but I use it as a Topper its dehydrated so it’s not cooked at a very high heat the people that are making all these cooked dog foods some are using like pressure cookers and that’s not good because you’re using an intense high heat so you’re killing everything and it can actually be hurting your dog more so I actually cooked mine in a slow cooker stop the rice people do not put rice in your cooked dog food vegetables greens vitamins I give two forms of protein and eggshells for calcium and I put this topper on

  24. @n2daair23 on October 30, 2024 at 3:18 pm

Personally I would stay away from Apoquel at all costs. I had 3 Akitas, one of which was continuously scratching so the vet prescribed Apoquel. She has been the only one of my dogs, ever, to develop bone cancer. It was so sad to watch such a vibrant girl deteriorate so quickly. Well I learned afterwards that Apoquel is now being an issue associated with cancer. I still carry the guilt of giving her that medication ๐Ÿ˜ข

  25. @kathyrebeiro4368 on October 30, 2024 at 3:20 pm

Quercertain is a good allergic reaction to it and I actually itched worse so beware of that for your dog but it is a very good herb to use for itching

I found the dosing recommended for Benadryl to be WAY to high for my dog. To start off I gave my dog two 25 mg tablets (knocked him out and he did not look good). He weighs about 80 lbs (79-82). I should according to what the web says gave him 3-6 tablets. I backed off and gave him one tablet. If adult humans take 2? It made me think. Also, my dog had severe reaction to Bravecto; tremors and staggering.
Thank you for your information you provide.
I have been using peroxide in my dogs ears, bc he is prone to ear yeast infections.

  29. @eac-guy7272 on October 30, 2024 at 3:25 pm

How to prevent the dogs from licking off the meds. He keeps licking off the coconut and olive oil.
Im still trying to figure out what’s the cause of their itching had them for over 4 years. Didn’t move house or food

I can confirm Quercetin helps FAST!

  34. @kathyrebeiro4368 on October 30, 2024 at 3:36 pm

Licorice is very good I give my dog licorice but if you have a dog with high blood pressure it is a absolute No-No and I also give my dog Burdock I think everybody and every dog should be on Burdock it is an amazing herb and it has so many great properties to it to keeping everyone healthy it’s a type of B vitamin but it is awesome for the immune system one of the best

  35. @MollieC-uc1fk on October 30, 2024 at 3:37 pm

Top 5 remedies: 1% Hydrocortisone, Benadryl 1m per 1 lb. 2×3 times a day Benadryl and Reactine is an antihistamine .5 m per lb, Quercetin (which is good for humans too)…50 mg per 15 lbs daily, Licorice Root extract 14 days on 7 days off, 14 days on – 1/2 tube of the tincture for 20 lbs 2x day. Plant sterols 2 mil per pound 1 or 2x day in a carrier oil (like essential oils) I think I got this right on doses but the 5 remedies are correct.

  36. @iarenotamused on October 30, 2024 at 3:38 pm

do you do all 5 at once?

  37. @coreyfinch3530 on October 30, 2024 at 3:38 pm

At your ratios I should be giving my 115lb dog 57.5 mgโ€™s of reactive a day?

  38. @cynthiajcunningham3635 on October 30, 2024 at 3:38 pm

My dog is alergic to my disinfectant straight from the bottle. I have used it for years to mop the floors but it is diluted. NOW he scratches his back side and has red patches from the irration. I use pure coconut oil and it is visibly better after the first use. I’ll keep using it until it’s gone! I just rub it on the spots.

my cat itches every fall/ winter but not much in summer, my cats are indoor always, no fleas have been seen and same food always so must be dry skin problem for certain seasons

  43. @ladyhawk5245 on October 30, 2024 at 3:44 pm

Or fleas. Find organic sulphur at the local garden supply. It works. Farmers call it sheep)goat/ cattle dip to kill parasites. Simple stuff works best. Affordable!!!

Hi Doctor ,i can use all this medecine for Cats.?

  45. @lindaallen2412 on October 30, 2024 at 3:46 pm

Sorry all these are just bad chemicals, change your dog’s food to raw diet, with good natural vitamins and supplements, and the best natural antihistamine is Quercetin works 10 times better than any chemical one and works for things like human allergies too, stings bites etc saved my pony’s life that had been attacked by a nest of wood ants

  46. @Rayoma_01 on October 30, 2024 at 3:49 pm

Are these human medications that i can get from a pharmacy or dogโ€™s medication?

What can they be allergic to???

  49. @kathyrebeiro4368 on October 30, 2024 at 3:51 pm

I’m sticking with coconut oil also good apple cider vinegar mixed with water will help yeast but diluted 3 to 1 three water to 1 apple cider vinegar whatever it is if it’s a cup of apple cider vinegar to 3 cups of filtered water also peroxide and another great thing to use I don’t use it specifically for itching but for almost everything else castor oil I put it on lumps and bumps and have had them go away I gave my dog Benadryl just like he said and she took it for a very long time but the problem is they just came out this summer and said that the Children’s Benadryl now has really bad toxic things in it so I would advise against the Benadryl at this point

  50. @joemojoVR on October 30, 2024 at 3:51 pm

Of course allergies are on the rise .. cheaper lower grade protein and a lot more additives . It’s all about maximising profit and creating an issue which didn’t exist before .
